Admission Procedure

  • Assessment Process

    Potential residents are evaluated by the Poor Relief Department to determine eligibility based on financial and medical needs.

  • Referral & Medical Report

    Once approved, a referral and medical report must be submitted for final processing.

  • Placement & Orientation

    Residents are assigned to an appropriate cluster based on their level of independence and medical requirements.

Permitted Items

  • Personal clothing and shoes
  • Personal clothing and shoesaHygiene products
  • A wash basin that fits under the assigned bed
  • A table fan (if the room is not already equipped with one)
  • A plastic bowl, plate, and cup, along with a metal spoon
  • A snack container (for snacks only, not for cooked food)
  • Bed linens (fitted and flat sheets) and a pillow
  • Wheelchair (if needed)

Prohibited Items

  • Hot plates, kettles, or microwaves
  • Refrigerators, furniture, or televisions
  • Sharp objects such as knives, scissors, razors, and screwdrivers
  • Matches, lighters, or any flammable items
  • Radios and loudspeakers
  • Pets

Visiting Rules & Times

Visitors are allowed during the following periods from Sunday to Saturday:

10:00am - 12:00noon

4:00pm - 6:00pm

Visitors are not allowed on Clusters

Visitors are to ensure that they take proper identification at all times and present it to the Security Personnel as well as log their name in the Visitors Book at the Security Booth, in order to gain access to the facility.

Visitors are not allowed to do the following while visiting at the facility:

  • Smoke
  • Give Residents or staff marijuana or other illegal drugs
  • Carry weapons on the premises
  • Remove company property from the facility
  • Drink alcohol or engage residents in the drinking of alcoholic beverages
  • Hurl threats or behave in an aggressive manner, display violent behaviour, harass, assault or discriminate against any resident
